Junior rodeo, the Rodeo Queen Pageant, horsemanship, and the community events that fill in the rest of the year.
Everything Western Crown does is built around getting Antelope Valley youth on a horse, into an arena, and around people worth being around. Here is what we run and how a family gets started.
If you are not sure which program fits your child, call or send us a message. It is a short conversation and it saves a lot of guessing.
Competition
Western Crown Junior Rodeo
Western Crown Junior Rodeo is where most of our young riders compete. Events are age-appropriate and judged fairly, and safety is handled seriously from the moment stock is loaded to the moment the last trailer pulls out.
New families are not thrown in cold. If your child has never competed, come watch a rodeo first and talk to the parents in the stands. Nobody expects a kid to know the routine on day one, and nobody here is going to make them feel like they should.
For riders already competing, junior rodeo is a place to sharpen up against real competition without hauling out of the valley every weekend.

Western Crown Rodeo Queen Pageant
The Western Crown Rodeo Queen Pageant looks for young women who can ride well and represent the association with poise. Contestants are evaluated on horsemanship, speaking ability, and how they carry themselves in front of a crowd.
The title comes with real work attached. A Western Crown queen appears at our rodeos and community events, welcomes families and sponsors, and sets the example for every younger girl watching her from the fence.
The preparation is worth as much as the crown. Contestants practice interviews, put in time on their riding, and get comfortable speaking to a room full of people. Those are skills a young woman keeps long after her year is over.

Skill Building
Horsemanship Program
The Horsemanship Program is the foundation under everything else we do. Riders learn groundwork, tack and equipment, safe handling, and how to read what a horse is telling them.
The pace is set by the rider, not by a calendar. A beginner spends the time it takes to get genuinely comfortable before anyone brings up competing. A more experienced rider works on the specific things that will make a difference in the arena.
Families new to horses are welcome here. If you are unsure where your child fits or what they would need to get started, reach out and we will talk it through with you.

Year Round
Community Events & Activities
Rodeo is the anchor, but a good share of what holds Western Crown together happens outside the arena. We hold practices, fundraisers, family outings, and community events through the year, and we work with local businesses and organizations across the Antelope Valley to put them on.
These are the days that turn a group of competitors into a group of friends. Parents get to know each other, younger siblings tag along, and families who met at a rodeo end up hauling together for the rest of the season.
Upcoming events are posted here and on our social media. Everyone is welcome, whether your kid competes or not.

The 2026 Western Crown Event Weekend
October 16–18, 2026
Our 2026 event weekend is the biggest thing on the Western Crown calendar. A full weekend of competition, with families coming in from across the valley and a lot of kids getting their shot in front of a crowd.
Dates, venue, entry information, and the full schedule are listed below. Contestants should read the entry deadlines carefully, since late entries are harder on everyone. Spectators and sponsors will find what they need there as well.
If anything about the schedule is unclear, call or send us a message before the deadline rather than after it. We would rather answer the question early.
